We use Clerk for authentication and account management. When you sign up or register an account, we collect:

  • Authentication Credentials: Managed securely through Clerk (passwords, social login identifiers, and OAuth tokens). We do not directly store or access your raw account passwords.

B. Search, Browsing, and Usage Data

To deliver personalized price alerts, aggregate deal trends, and maintain product search features, we collect:

  • Search queries and product search history entered inside the App.
  • Interaction logs, such as deal clicks, product views, and price history tracking requests.
  • Saved items, wishlist preferences, and custom price drop alerts set inside your account profile.

C. Device and Technical Data

We automatically collect standard diagnostic and device data when you use the App:

  • Device hardware details (device model, operating system version, screen resolution, and mobile carrier).
  • App performance metrics, crash logs, IP address, and standard connection headers.
  • App instance identifiers used for operational telemetry and service security.

D. Information We DO NOT Collect

  • No Payment Data: Smart Shopping AI is a price-comparison tool. We do not collect, process, manage, or store credit cards, debit cards, bank details, UPI credentials, or financial account numbers. All financial transactions take place exclusively on third-party retailer websites.
  • No Precise Location Data: We do not track or store your precise GPS or device location.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process personal data for the following specific purposes:

  • Core Service Delivery: Authenticating users, storing user wishlists, powering product search, and serving relevant price history data.
  • Price Alert Notifications: Delivering requested price drop notifications and automated deal alerts.
  • Affiliate Tracking: Generating affiliate links and validating outbound redirects when you click through to partner retailer stores.
  • Service Analytics: Analyzing aggregate usage trends, fixing bugs, and improving app performance and search relevance.
  • Security & Misuse Prevention: Safeguard against abusive scrapers, unauthorized automated queries, and malicious activities.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only under the following limited circumstances:

A. Authentication Provider (Clerk)

User account registration, authentication security, and identity management are powered by Clerk. Your account email and credentials are processed under Clerk's security infrastructure.

B. Affiliate Networks and Merchants

When you click on a product offer or deal link, you are redirected to third-party retailer websites (such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, or other D2C stores) via affiliate networks. We share non-personally identifiable referral tokens or click identifiers with affiliate networks to verify that a visit originated from Smart Shopping AI. This allows us to earn affiliate commissions when a purchase occurs.

C. Analytics and Operational Infrastructure

We share anonymized technical telemetry with server hosting, database infrastructure, and logging providers necessary to host the backend services, process backend search workers, and maintain high availability.

D. Legal Compliance

We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, court order, regulatory request, or governmental authority under Indian law or other relevant jurisdictions.

4. Third-Party Retailer Websites and Affiliate Links

The App contains links to external e-commerce platforms and merchant sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, terms, or data collection procedures of external websites. When you leave Smart Shopping AI by clicking a merchant link, your interactions are governed by that merchant's privacy policy and terms. We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party site you visit.

5. DPDP Act Consent Statement (India)

If you reside in India, your personal data is processed in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

  • Consent Basis: By registering an account or continuing to use Smart Shopping AI, you provide clear and explicit consent for us to collect and process your personal data (account details, search history, saved alerts, and device data) for the specific purposes specified in Section 2 of this policy.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account inside the App settings or contacting our Grievance Officer.
  • Right to Access & Correction: You may view, correct, update, or complete your account information at any time within your profile settings.
  • Right to Erasure: You may request the permanent deletion of your personal data held by Smart Shopping AI.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion Process

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law.

  • Active Accounts: Data associated with your account (profile details, saved wishlists, alert settings, search logs) is retained while your account remains active.
  • Deletion Procedure: You can initiate account deletion directly within the App by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Alternatively, you can send a written deletion request to [email protected].
  • Data Erasure Timeline: Upon receiving a verified account deletion request, your personal profile, saved alerts, wishlist items, and personal identification records are permanently purged from our primary database servers within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics that cannot identify an individual may be retained for analytical purposes.

7. Disclaimers

A. Prices and Product Availability Disclaimer

Smart Shopping AI aggregates product data, pricing details, and deal information from multiple online merchants. Prices, availability, coupons, and delivery terms fluctuate rapidly across merchant platforms. We make reasonable efforts to reflect updated information, but we do not guarantee that prices or stock status displayed in the App are identical to third-party merchant listings at the exact moment of purchase. The price and terms on the merchant's checkout page prevail.

B. Trademark and Logo Disclaimer

All third-party product names, logos, brand names, trademarks, and registered trademarks displayed in the App belong to their respective owners. Their inclusion in Smart Shopping AI is solely for reference, identification, and price-comparison purposes. The display of brand logos or product listings does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or direct partnership by brand owners, unless explicitly stated.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical, organizational, and operational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
